While in college, I started interning at the Milwaukee County Zoo in the Education Department. I assisted in classrooms and worked my way up to being the lead teacher. After college I continued at the Milwaukee County Zoo part time and started my first full time teaching position at St. Catherine in Milwaukee as a K4/K5 teacher. After 1 year at St. Catherine I applied for a position at St. Matthias and was hired to be the K4 teacher. I wanted to be at St. Matthias because it is close to my house and I was familiar with the community from when I was in grade school and we played each other in sports. I played volleyball in elementary school. I also really like the location close to my home. Since starting to teach at St. Matthias I have had 2 children and my husband and I decided to join the parish and have our children baptized at St. Matthias. Now, my children attend school here and it is nice to be together.
