Teaching has always called to me! I started my career in middle school in MPS, then spent about 15 years as a substitute and long-term teacher in the suburbs. All of the experiences, staff, and students I have met along the way have left an impact on the kind of teacher I am and want to be. My husband and four, adult children taught me patience, unconditional love, and time management as well as how to embrace this adventure of life. We have a fantastic time together having family dinners, supporting each others' activities, and spending time together on the boat, singing Karaoke, or watching sports and dance events. Once all of my children were driving, I heard the call to have my own classroom again. St. Matthias is home to my family, the Stachniks, so I applied and the rest is history. I have been teaching 8 years here so far, leading to this year where I have the pleasure of teaching 5th and 6th graders in a team setting. I am truly blessed to be part of this amazing, spiritual, academic school and supportive church community.
